Charles's nursery

I decided that I wanted to make an unforgettable nursery that was completely unique. So I set out to do just that and had a blast!

If you want to achieve the same look you will need:
Lots of patience
A projector
A cut out of the image you want
(I got mine from Google images and used an xacto knife to cut it out)
A pencil to trace your image
Painters tape to tape off the outside of the image
Paint trays
Rollers
Paint:
I used a flat for the grey, but I would recommend an eggshell
The tree is a semi-gloss
The animals are a high gloss
Using contrasting colors makes everything look so much better! If you use all one finish it doesn't look as nice.

I decided that I wanted to do a giraffe themed room. It turned out so perfect!! I have this obsession with giraffes and I wanted my sons room to be memorable.

I used a projector to get my images on the wall. I then simply traced my images and taped them off to paint. I think that they turned out fantastic!

I made the curtains on the closet door and the window from material I bought with a coupon. I love buying fabric at a discounted price :) I can get more for my money and feel much less guilty buying more of it for less!

That rocker was SO nice to have with Charles! Although with all of his medical supplies it made making sure none of his tubes were pinched off a chore. But it was so much nicer than the chairs we had to use at the hospital... I made those cute pillows on the chair from my extra fabric to match the closet curtain and the window! So much fun!

I liked the idea of making the furniture what I wanted. So a family member had an old crib that I gave a makeover. This crib started out as old, chipped and brown. I took several weeks to transform it into this beauty! I used a good oil based primer after taking a piece of sandpaper to it and scuffing it. It helped the primer stick better. And then I took paint to it and then a sealer. And then I had my favorite crib ever!
Lots of work but so worth it!

My favorite part about this dresser is it looks like it is smiling :) I used the same process on the dresser and nightstands that I did on the crib. For a first time up-cycling old furniture I love it!

I used the same paint from the walls on my up-cycled furniture and I love how it looks!

I made this from wood I bought at Michael's and I just love how it turned out! I bought the canvas at Michael's as well. Very cheap when bought on sale or by using a coupon. I then put Charles' hand and feet prints on them when he was a week old!

I had great fun with the best tech ever! Jill was the best! Or as we came to call her Jill Screw up Christmas! Great night and we had so much fun!

I just love Jill! If it wasn't for her I would not have the cute hand and feet prints that I adore!

Charles just loved to stare at his great big daddy giraffe! And of course he had to have his Moose with him! Charles didn't get to see his bedroom very much, but when he did he loved it!

Craft intro

I love making cute things for cheap! I love sewing and painting! I am creating a place where I can share what I have made for a small price but had lots of fun doing!

I have an addiction to pinterst where I found a lot of ideas that have inspired my various crafts and projects! Pictures and tutorials to come as I have time!

Happy crafting!
